Happy with the DTF Printer

I ordered a DTF Printer last month. The website was easy to navigate and placing the order was straightforward. It shipped out in a few days, and got to my shop in about a week, which was reasonable. The printer itself has been great, prints really well, and the colors are vibrant. I did have a quick question about the software, and their customer support was actually pretty helpful and got back to me fast. My only minor thing is the packaging could have been a bit sturdier for such a delicate machine, but it arrived safely so no real complaints. Good experience overall, I'd consider buying from them again.

My first big purchase!

Okay, so I finally pulled the trigger and got myself a CO2 Laser Engraver. I was looking around a lot because these machines aren't cheap, you know? But OMTech had some decent prices compared to others I saw. I used a discount code I found, which made it even better. Shipping was fine, it took about 6 days to get to me. Setup was a bit of a process, but the instructions were clear enough. Definitely felt like a good deal for what I got, especially with the discount. Pretty happy with it, worth the money for sure.

Solid machine, slow delivery

I got the Portable Fiber Laser. The machine itself is robust and works as expected. Setting it up was simple. However, delivery took longer than I anticipated, almost 10 days to get to my workshop. That was a bit of a drag, but the quality of the laser makes up for it. The LightBurn software integration was smooth. Good value for the price, just wish shipping was faster.

Anyone know how long it takes for a laser to actually arrive? I'm in Chicago and need it for a project soon, wondering if I should just look local.

J Josh 1 month ago
It really depends on the model. My desktop engraver got here in like a week and a half to Michigan. The bigger cabinet ones can take a bit longer, I've heard some people waiting closer to 2-3 weeks for those.

For a CO2 to the Midwest, I'd probably factor in 7-14 business days. They ship freight for the big ones so it's not like UPS ground.

Hey, thinking about grabbing one of their fiber lasers. Does OMTech do any kind of financing like Affirm or something? That'd make it way easier to swing.

P Priya 1 month ago
Yeah, they totally do! I used Affirm for my K40 a few months back. Super straightforward process during checkout.

Can confirm, I saw Affirm as an option when I was looking at their bigger CO2 machines too. Seems pretty standard for them.

Is it worth it to wait for Black Friday for an OMTech machine or do their influencer codes give similar discounts? Trying to decide if I should pull the trigger now.

N Neil 1 month ago
From what I've seen, Black Friday can have some sweet deals, especially on accessories or specific models. But the influencer codes are usually a flat dollar amount off, which can be pretty significant on the more expensive machines. Hard to say which is 'better' without knowing the specific machine you're eyeing.

I got a $300 off code from an influencer that worked perfectly. BF sales might be a percentage, so for a cheaper machine, a code might actually be better. For a super high-end one, a percentage might win. Just something to consider.

can you stack coupons on omtech? trying to use a military discount plus an influencer code if possible.

E Elena 2 months ago
Nah, they only let you use one code per order. Tried it myself with a newsletter sign-up and a different promo code, wouldn't work.

Pretty sure it's just one code at a time. Pick the best one you have for the biggest saving!

Thinking about getting an OMTech CO2, but my friend keeps pushing for a Glowforge. What's the real difference in terms of capability and value?

J Julia Lindqvist 2 months ago
Glowforge is definitely more user-friendly, like a plug-and-play appliance. OMTech is more of a 'real' industrial tool, way more power, bigger work area, but you gotta be more hands-on with it. If you're serious about production, OMTech all the way. If you just want to do occasional crafts easily, Glowforge might be fine.

D David Okafor 2 months ago
Yeah, Glowforge is super limited compared to OMTech. You'll hit the power ceiling on a Glowforge almost immediately if you want to cut anything substantial. OMTech gives you much more room to grow and upgrade components too.
